We are a Proud Partner of Henry Vilas Zoo!
Does your favorite four-legged friend love getting a new toy? Well so do the animals at the Henry Vilas Zoo! Mounds is excited to join forces with the zoo to keep zoo residents happy, and YOU can help!
Visit one of our stores in Madison, Fitchburg, Sun Prairie or Middleton and search the aisles for the zoo logo on specially marked toys and treats! Or check out the zoo in-store displays, packed full of toys for our featured zoo critters. These hand-picked items are some of the favorites of the zoo animals. Once you purchase any of these toys, they will be donated to the zoo! Every few weeks, zookeepers pick up the donated toys and hand them out to the zoo animals. Don’t forget to tell your cashier which of your items are for the zoo donation box.
Can’t decide what to buy? How about a Mounds gift card! Zookeepers like to pick out toys for their furry, feathered, and scaly friends too!
Want to buy your favorite zoo animal a birthday gift for the zoo’s 100th birthday? Stop by one of the Madison area stores and pick out a zookeeper-approved toy! When you are done shopping, tell your cashier which items are for the zoo donation box.
Be sure to check out the wish list of products below for the zoo animals and keep an eye out for other exciting Mounds and Henry Vilas Zoo enrichment events!
In 2016, Mounds raised over $22,000 for the Henry Vilas Zoo. Through in-store displays, Mounds customers were also encouraged to support the zoo by purchasing a variety of “zookeeper-approved” enrichment items (aka toys!) to be given to the seals, orangutans, meerkats, and more.
Henry Vilas Zoo Testimonial:
“Mounds’ support of animals throughout our community also extends to some of Madison’s most exotic residents. Mounds held a large donation drive for Henry Vilas Zoo, providing enrichment items for many of the zoo’s animals…The drive brought in over $20,000 of donations and enrichment items in 2016, making a huge difference at the zoo. They also support the zoo as a treat sponsor for our free community event, Halloween at the Zoo.”
