“The Humane Society of Jefferson County has proudly served our community since 1922. It is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, which receives no governmental funding. We rely on the generosity of those in our community to help us fulfill our mission of caring for the lost, homeless and abused animals in Jefferson County. In addition to reuniting lost pets with their owners, the HSJC provides pet adoption, 24-hourstray animal pick up, low-cost rabies vaccination clinics, a safe keep program for at risk animals, humane education classes, pet therapy visits and the Furry Friends Kids Camp. All of these efforts are carried out with the hope of creating a more informed, compassionate and humane community. “
