Just Giants Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit dog rescue that specializes in giant breed dogs such as Great Danes, Mastiffs, Newfoundland’s, Great Pyrenees, Saint Bernard’s, Irish Wolfhounds, and others. We currently adopt dogs out in the tri-state area of Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. We are a volunteer, foster-based rescue. All dogs are placed in loving homes until their forever home is found. The rescue began in early 2014 with a group of people in the Oswego, Illinois area that moved from a Great Dane
rescue into creating a rescue that would accommodate all giant breeds.

We are currently in the early stages of our development. We are actively looking for more volunteers in the three states that we work in. We have a few volunteers in Wisconsin currently and are looking to expand in the area. Our goals consist of fundraising, volunteer and foster home recruitment, event planning, along with further developing the organization as a whole.

In less than one year we have rescued 40 giants, and have had several success stories. One of the most touching stories was Dolan. Dolan came to Just Giants as an owner surrender from the Indianapolis Humane Society. He was kept outside all of his life and was very underweight when he came in. A Great Dane should weigh between 120 and 180 pounds, he was around 85. His fur was brown, but should have been black. After 6 weeks in our care for a variety of medical needs, including some much needed weight gain; Dolan was adopted to an amazing family. We couldn’t have asked for a better ending for him.
