PET FOOD RECALL INFORMATION
Mounds Pet food Warehouse remains dedicated to the health and safety of our dog and cat families. We will continue to monitor the pet food recalls and remove affected items from our shelves as recall information becomes available. Thus far, the majority of recalls are due to possible melamine contamination of wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate (gluten). If you are unable to find the information you are seeking via the websites listed below, please contact any of our locations and a sales associate will be happy to assist you.
If you purchased one of the recalled foods, do not feed it to your pet - please return it. If your pet is behaving irregularly (i.e. vomiting, loss of appetite, lethargy, excessive thirst, etc.), please seek immediate veterinary care.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 05/08/07 - The FDA held a press conference related to a misrepresentation of wheat gluten and concentrated rice protein. According to the press release transcript, the FDA discovered that the wheat gluten and rice protein concentrate are in fact wheat flour contaminated with melamine, and therefore a mislabeling issue is being investigated. 06/10/08 - Recall: Lake Country® Lamb Feed Voluntary Recall.
Reason: The Land O'Lakes Purina Feed plant in Fremont, Neb., has initiated a limited voluntary recall of two lamb feed products due to higher than acceptable levels of copper.
